Duas for sneezing

The sneezing report contains three different speech roles: the person who sneezes praises Allah, the listener responds, and the sneezer replies. The cards keep those roles separate.

The sequence in the narration

Sahih al-Bukhari 6224 supplies the reference. Read the card labels before memorising: the first belongs to the sneezer, the second to the responding companion and the third to the sneezer again.

The words are not one long statement that everyone says together. Their meaning combines praise with requests for mercy, guidance and a better condition.

Grammar and speaker matter

The selected listener response addresses a person, while the sneezer’s reply preserves the Arabic form in the report. Do not rewrite endings automatically to make all three cards look grammatically identical.

An accurate lesson should associate the Arabic with who is speaking. This is particularly helpful for children or beginners who may otherwise memorise the sound without understanding the exchange.

Teaching the exchange

Practise the roles in a simple example, then explain that the response in this report follows the sneezer praising Allah. Keep the lesson kind and avoid embarrassing someone who is learning.

Questions about repeated sneezes, an absent listener or other circumstances need their own supporting reports. They should not be added as invented rules under Bukhari 6224.

Common questions

Should the listener say every phrase? No; each card has a different role. Is the third card a reply by the sneezer? Yes, in the selected report. Can the same citation settle every number-of-sneezes question? It cannot establish details it does not give. Where can I continue?
